MOM (Mind Over Matter) Walk

6805 Bluegrass Dr, Clarkston, MI

May 22 | 10am

You can help save lives and erase the stigma! Run or walk in the MOM (Mind Over Matter) Walk for mental health awareness and suicide prevention on May 22nd at 10am, rain or shine. Calvary's LIFE Ministry Team has marked out a couple of routes (1.5 miles and 3.7 miles) for our local version of the MOM Race, each beginning and ending at Calvary's Clarkston Campus. We are putting measures in place to maintain appropriate physical distancing observed throughout the race. If you'd like to join us, but aren't in a place right now to attend in person, please consider walking in your neighborhood or local trail/park instead. Also consider honoring a loved one lost to suicide or paying tribute to someone who names mental health as an area of emphasis or struggle. Registration is not required for this event. Pontiac Orchard & Playground

573 S Jessie St, Pontiac, MI

Saturdays | 8am-12pm

This summer (May 1 - Nov 6) we will again ask that individuals/groups/families choose a bed at our Pontiac Community Orchard to weed, mulch, and spruce up while staying physically distanced and following guidelines AND spending Time With The Father. Each flower, vegetable, and fruit bed has been named using the Books of the New Testament. The beds have a specific verse designated from that Book as a reminder of God's goodness and love. You are invited to visit the orchard beds, adopt a specific one for a day or even the summer, and maybe even share the joy you experience with your friends/family and continue to grow in/with this important ministry. Be sure to bring gloves, shovels, trowels, lawn bags, bags of brown dyed mulch, and face coverings. Please plan to take the lawn bags home with you when you have finished for the day.

Foster Care Starter Kit Collection

6805 Bluegrass Dr, Clarkston, MI

Sundays in May | 9am-1pm

We are joining our partners Samaritas in an effort to support at-risk young adults (age 16-21) who are "aging out" of Foster Care. We are collecting NEW items needed to assemble "starter kits" that are given to the youth as they enter Independent Living Plus homes. However, as these young adults begin this next chapter of their lives, they don't have any household items when they arrive. Please bring items to Calvary's Clarkston Campus Sundays in May from 9am-1pm.
