Prayer of the Day

Gracious God, as we enter these 40 Days to Rejuvenate, we ask that you fill us with your life-giving and refreshing Holy Spirit. As we engage in spiritual practices, open us to the renewal of our body, mind, and spirit. Equip us to find delight in living out our faith more deeply so that we can extend your love to others. Day by day help us to see you more clearly, love you more dearly, and follow you more nearly in all that we say and do. We give thanks to you, heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ your dear Son, that you have protected us through the night from all harm and danger. We ask that you would also protect us today from sin and all evil, so that our life and actions may please you. Into your hands we commend ourselves: our bodies, our souls, and all that is ours. Let your holy angel be with us, so that the wicked foe may have no power over us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen. (based on Martin Luther's Morning Prayer)

40DAYS to Rejuvinate

Begins October 2

Life has been tough these past few years and it has taken a toll on each of us in some way. Many express being tired or less hopeful or even questioning their faith. These 40 Days (Oct 2- Nov 13) will be a time to revive our spirit, re-engage our faith, and discover new energy for life. The word “rejuvenate” literally means "to make youthful again." So, no matter your age or where you are in your walk of faith, “better together” we will seek new vigor for our lives by confronting those things that extinguish our faith and leaning into those practices which refill us and quench our deepest thirst.

WELCA Bible Study

Monday at 7:00 PM

WELCA (Women of the ELCA) will begin a new season of monthly Bible studies for women at Calvary. The sessions will focus on Jesus and Nature: Teachers of Faith by Rev Sara Olson Smith. These studies will allow nature to be our teacher, through the words of Jesus and other examples in Scripture. Session 1 is called “Trees” and will tap into Biblical images of trees and their significance in Biblical times as well as today. In light of the heightened concern for the environment and our responsibility as “stewards of God’s creation” these studies are very timely and should provide opportunity for some great discussion. Bring your Bible, study materials will be provided for those not subscribing to the WELCA Gather Magazine.

Flower Ministry

Recently, we started sharing gorgeous flowers that were donated specifically to be shared with family and friends of Calvary. Many we haven't seen in a while due to a variety of reasons and some because we knew they needed a little bit of sunshine. Thank you God for such a beautiful bounty. If you would like to be part of this ministry or want to learn more, please contact the church office.
