Voice of Truth Mission Trip
Week of July 25th
More Details Coming Soon
Voice of Truth is a local, overnight, week-long opportunity for youth and young adults to live out their faith by being the hands and feet of Jesus in surrounding communities. This is a unique experience for people of all ages with a balance of faith formation, service projects, and activities. This is a great starter mission experience, and is recommended particularly for youth 6th-9th grade.
Confirmation is a 2+ year ministry that gathers during the school year to intentionally prepare our youth for the journey towards celebrating their Affirmation of Baptism. We do this together through many experiences both inside and outside of the walls of Calvary. Over the 2+ years, students will study: the Ten Commandments, Lord's prayer, Apostles' Creed, Sacraments of Baptism and Holy Communion, as well as the Lutheran identity and specific topics associated with Calvary, its ministries and its philosophy of the Spiritual Growth Pathway. The Affirmation of Baptism celebration then happens in the fall of the student's 10th grade year. As always, these age frames are suggested; if you have a youth who is older and would like to engage, please contact a pastor to make that happen.
8th Grade Bibles
In the fall, students receive their 4th new church given Bible that is then intended to stay with them into their adult faith journey. The Bibles are given along with a special blessing during worship at the beginning of Confirmation Ministry.
We view this milestone of Baptism as an entrance into God's family and a significant step in the formation of a living and eternal relationship with Jesus at any phase or age of life. You do not need to be a member of Calvary to celebrate Baptism here with us. By way of preparation, we offer pre-baptismal sessions that allow you to meet personally with our pastors, learning more about what Baptism means and the lifetime of support that Calvary offers.
